Because Pisceans are generally idealistic and sensitive, this sign contains a generous proportion of writers, artists, actors and dreamers in general. We like to get away from ourselves and the world and wallow in the inner regions of our imagination. In fact, our own private fantasy worlds can be far more interesting and satisfying to us than reality. In the arts, we can indulge that side of our nature and lose ourselves. We are also sensitive to the nuances and undercurrents that lie behind the masks that other people present, seeing through the disguise to the real emotions and fears. So, we make darn good counsellors, therapists and mediums.

I experienced this for myself when, as a teenager, my friends and classmates would bring their problems to me. Even those who were not really counted among my friends felt able to talk to me and pour out their feelings on me. I remember that another Piscean friend at high school remarked that that is all very well, but sometimes we fishes want to have someone to talk to as well. In fact, we find it difficult if not well nigh impossible to talk about our problems and we tend to fall back on addiction of some kind to give us comfort. Sadly, I know that addictive Piscean trait only too well since I am more or less addicted to food and use it to cover boredom and loneliness. I also use the net to the same purpose and I can all too easily loose myself completely in surfing and making my own homepages. Which is probably why I have over 92 of the things and say that I am addicted to the net.

Pisceans are also greatly interested in the esoteric and we are endlessly fascinated by such things as astrology, ghosts, the Tarot, dreams, music and religion. But not all of us are attracted to conventional religion, oh no! You'll find a lot of Pisceans on the fringe of such faiths as Paganism, particularly Wicca. Those who do follow the conventional religions take their faith very seriously.
